Periods are often irregular after an abortion procedure. It can take two to three months for them to regulate, which is perfectly normal. If after three months your period hasn’t returned, go to your doctor.
A missed period could also mean a repeat pregnancy. It’s difficult to ascertain whether you are pregnant straight after an abortion procedure as the hormones in your body can make a pregnancy test give a positive result for up to a month after the abortion process. One way of finding out is to buy two pregnancy tests. Take the first test one week after the day you believe you conceived, and take the second test a week later. If the results of the second test are darker than the first one, you might be pregnant. If the second one is lighter, then the test might be influenced by the hormones in your body since the initial pregnancy.
